Our take
Location is the main argument for the Hôtel du Nord: central Annecy, a few minutes' walk from the lake, the shops and the train station. It is a two-star with air-conditioned en suite rooms, a continental breakfast and a reception open 24/7, nothing more. A score of 8.6 from over 1,500 reviews shows it delivers on that. I would choose it for a car-free stay in Annecy on a sensible budget.
- ✓Take advantage of the central location to explore Annecy's old town and lake on foot
- ✓Ask the 24/7 reception staff for local recommendations and practical advice
- ✓Consider using the free overnight parking nearby if you are travelling by car
Why we love it

- 24/7 reception for convenience
- Free WiFi throughout the hotel
Why guests love itArriving by train with children is easy at the Hôtel du Nord, a two-star a few minutes' walk from Annecy station, the lake, shops and restaurants. Rooms are air-conditioned with en suite bathrooms, useful on hot Alpine summer days. A continental breakfast is served daily and the reception is open around the clock, which helps with late arrivals. Facilities stop at the essentials, so this works as a walking base for days spent by the lake.
