About this stay
Hôtel des Princes is a genuine hotel rather than an apartment, positioned in Chambéry's Old Town close to the Château des Ducs de Savoie, with air-conditioned rooms carrying satellite TV and free WiFi throughout. A private spa is available on site for an additional charge, with massages available upon request, giving it one of the more distinctive wellness offerings in this Chambéry collection. A buffet breakfast is served daily, and 24-hour reception with an iMac computer for guest use adds practical convenience. Couples travelling as a pair have rated the location 9.5, and the hotel sits close enough to the château to combine an old-town morning with a spa afternoon on the same day.

Our take
Hôtel des Princes is the three-star I would book in Chambéry to stay inside the Old Town, close to the Château des Ducs de Savoie. Rooms are air-conditioned, with satellite TV and free WiFi, and the reception is open 24 hours. A private spa can be booked on site at extra cost, and a buffet breakfast is served daily. An 8.6 score from 2,267 reviews is very good.
- ✓Book a spa treatment in advance, since it operates on reservation rather than walk-in availability.
- ✓Take the buffet breakfast before a full day of old-town sightseeing near the château.
- ✓Use the 24-hour reception if arriving on a late train or flight into Chambéry.
