Our take
I would choose All Suites Appart Hotel Dunkerque Centre for a practical waterfront base. The apartments have kitchenettes and dining areas, some with harbour views, and there is a buffet breakfast and a laundry. The station is ten minutes on foot and the beach a short drive away. Its 7.8 average is fair rather than outstanding, and travellers wanting a hotel right on the sand should look near Malo-les-Bains.
