Our take
I recommend the Mercure Place Bretagne to anyone who drives to Rennes: secure parking in the centre is hard to find, and the cathedral and the Place de la République are a short walk away. The four-star holds an 8.4 rating from more than 800 reviews, and adapted rooms make it a sound choice for guests with reduced mobility. It is a hotel, not an apartment.
- ✓Take advantage of the secure on-site parking if you're driving, it's a real convenience in the city centre.
- ✓Use the nearby Metro to explore Rennes beyond the immediate vicinity of the hotel, it's very efficient.
- ✓Walk to the Parliament of Brittany and the Beaux Arts Museum, they are both just a short stroll away.
