Our take
Ibis Rouen Centre Rive Gauche Mermoz earns its place through practicality: private parking, a restaurant, a bar, a terrace and a 24-hour front desk on the left bank of the Seine. I would choose it when a car is part of the trip and the plan is to cross the river to the cathedral and the old town. A guest score of 8 over roughly 1,700 reviews confirms a dependable three-star.

- ✓Take advantage of the 24-hour front desk for any local recommendations or assistance

Why guests love itI would book this Ibis for a family touring Normandy by car: private parking removes the usual search for a space in Rouen, and the left bank location keeps the drive in and out simple. The restaurant and bar mean no hunting for dinner after a long day, and the buffet breakfast handles fussy eaters. The 24-hour front desk helps with late arrivals. Rooms are standard three-star, so expect function over space.
