Set in the Germaine valley south of Saint-Quentin, Les Canards de la Germaine takes its name from the countryside setting itself, ducks on the water rather than any hotel branding, and carries one of the highest review counts of any family property in the area despite sitting well outside the town center. A short taxi from the Chateau de Ham, a genuine medieval and Renaissance fortress in the Somme valley, it gives families and couples a rural base with a hot tub and kid-friendly rooms at a rate well under most of Saint-Quentin's central hotels. Free parking and free Wi-Fi come standard, though the countryside setting means a car is effectively necessary to reach the Basilique or the Etang d'Isle lake park in town.
